ROBBERY BID FOILED, 6 HELD

Berhampur: Gopalpur police foiled a robbery bid and nabbed six wanted members of a dacoity gang on Saturday night. Those arrested are; Siba Nayak of village: Venketraipur, PS Gopalpur, Anil Mahakuda(22yrs), of Bhandarisahi, Bhapur bazar, Berhampur, PS. B. Town,K. Mohan Rao (35yrs), of Ramakrishna nagar, Luchhapada, PS- B. Sadar,SaniaPradhan(30yrs), of ORT colony, Gate bazar, Canal sahi, Berhampur, PS. B. Town Mitu Das (24yrs), S of Ramakrushnanagar, Luchhapada, PS. B. Sadar,KaliaSahu (25yrs), of Prahalladanagar 1st lane, Berhampur, PS. Bada bazar, all are of Dist. Ganjam
Police have also seized one Iron Sword,two Iron rods,two torch lights, One country made hand bomb and four nos empty foreign liquor bottles
SP Berhampur Dr Saravana VivekM said our SDPO Sadar SS Mahapatra have received information from Khabri about the presence of six armed criminals at an isolated place ,keeping on view of the ex[ected crime the Gopal[ur police team rush at spot timely.
On Saturday night while Gopal[ur police on job to check the movement of MO Criminals and Antisocials the team conducting blocking near Pathara Junction. While conducting blocking in the intervening night of Sunday at about 3.30 A.M. the above noted accused persons along with others were assembled in the out skirts of Bhaktasalbeganagarunder Gopalpur P.S. armed with deadly weapons and making preparation to commit dacoityon Maruti Show Room, BilluDhaba, Highway Dhaba, Bharat Petroleum Petrol pump, SAI Durga service station, Chennai-Kolkata highway road (NH-16)near, various business organisation in the dead hours of night. Getting the information Gopalpur Police staff conducted raid and apprehended the above sixaccused persons with the above incriminating articles. They are being forwarded to the court today. Previous conduct of accused persons around 15/20 cases are pendig at different [olice stations under Berhampur police district.The Investigation of the case is in progress.
