ROURKELA: Rourkela in Sundergarh district is the premier city where industries are available and is considered as Industrial capital of the state. Since last few days’ corona positive cases have increased and it was seen proper precautionary measures are not being followed by the natives of the city. In many areas people are totally carefree and openly not following guidelines provided by Rourkela Municipal Corporation to contain corona. Masks are not used and social distancing is not followed despite several notifications and information is passed. In last three days the local administration have become active in chasing the defaulters and fined many people for not using masks and warned the business houses small and big to maintain social distancing when dealing with customers and not to entertain all those customers who are coming to them without mask. Commissioner of RMC, D Parida and ADM, Rourkela and Aboli Sunil Narawane had visited many places in Rourkela mostly slums areas and make them aware about corona and the methods to keep it away. They also visited many areas besides main road and took information about covid testing and problems arising out of it. They also tried to convince people to stay home as long as possible and cooperate the local administration in containing this huge spread. Recently rumors are doing the corner that few staffs of IGH are corona positive but the fact of the matter is nothing of that short happened till now and staffs are asked to stay safe while dealing with patients. All markets are remained opened till 7pm excepting in Raja days till 10pm. But yesterday it was seen in some markets police had made effort to close shops by 8pm. Making fine to  people not wearing mask is welcomed by intellectuals of Rourkela and it has to be done in a regular basis otherwise its effect will go in vain. Many top doctors of the country are assuming that this corona will continue for some months and all of us should take due care to contain it by following Govt. guidelines framed from time to time.
