Review meeting held to assess progress of Odisha Yatri app

Bhubaneswar : A high level review meeting was held to assess the progress of the Odisha Yatri app—Odisha’s indigenous ride-booking platform aimed at delivering affordable, accessible, and inclusive transport solutions to the people.

The meeting was chaired by Housing and Urban Development Secretary Usha Padhee.

Conceived as a mobility solution for the masses, Odisha Yatri has been built around a bold, citizen-centric vision. A key highlight of the app is its zero-commission-for-life model for drivers, empowering them with greater earnings and dignity while delivering commuters a cost-effective alternative to private aggregators. With transparent pricing, robust safety features, and a seamless booking interface, the app promises a superior ride experience for both riders and drivers.

To enhance accessibility and cater to digitally underserved communities, the government is planning to set up kiosks and dedicated ride-booking counters in busy public areas and transit zones. These “Odisha Yatri” kiosks will serve as walk-in booking points for those without smartphones or access to the app, ensuring no citizen is left behind in Odisha’s digital mobility journey.

The review also touched upon Odisha Yatri’s roadmap to evolve into a mobility super app. Plans are underway to integrate Ama Bus services and OTDC’s tourism ticketing platform within the app, creating a one-stop interface for citizens and tourists alike. This integration will allow users to book local buses, plan sightseeing tours, and hail rides—all from a single app, ushering in a new era of connected, convenient, and sustainable travel.

As the platform prepares for state-wide expansion, an intensive awareness and on boarding campaign will be launched to promote adoption, foster public trust, and highlight Odisha Yatri’s unique value proposition has been decided.

Among others, Transport Commissioner Amitav Thakur, BMC Commissioner   Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, CRUT MD Dr N Thirumala Naik, GM CRUT Sanjay kumar  Biswal , Joint Director Transport Tapan  Mishra and  other concerned officials of the department were present in  the meeting.
