Retired IAS Manoj Kumar Parida Appointed Odisha’s New Chief Information Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: Manoj Kumar Parida, a retired IAS officer of AGMUT cadre has been appointed as the new Chief Information Commissioner of Odisha.

In the past, Parida served as an Insurance Ombudsman in Bhubaneswar.

Three Information Commissioners have also been named. They are Pranabindu Acharya, a retired IPS officer; Kalpana Pattnaik, an advocate from the Orissa High Court; and Pabitra Mandal, another retired IAS officer.

The Odisha State Information Commission, an autonomous and statutory body, was constituted under the Right to Information Act, 2005. Its primary functions include hearing appeals on information shared by government entities, investigating complaints regarding refusal to provide information, and monitoring annual reports from departments on RTI-related complaints and responses.
