Rayagada Scribes pay Tribute to Covid Deceased Journalists; Felicitate Nurses on International Nurses Day

Rayagada, May 12: In a very emotional atmosphere, the working journalists under the aegis of “Media Cares Rayagada District” paid floral tribute to two senior journalists of the district named Sarat Mangaraj and Gopal Panigrahi, who succumbed to dreaded Covid-19. Dr Badal kumar Tah, a senior media person of the district, requested the assembled press reporters to maintain two minutes silence for the twenty two journalists of Odisha state, who, as Covid Warriors, sacrificed their lives after being affected with Corona virus. Sri Bhakta Tripathy, State Admin of the Media Cares Campaign, has also tendered his condolences towards the bereaved families of the deceased scribes due to Covid-19.
Sri Jogeswar Das and Sri Ranjan Rath cherished the professional journalistic works and life of Sarat and Gopal for the information of budding young journalists of Rayagada. Dr Tah reminisced the contribution of several other journalists like late Joseph Jhonson Bara, Sriranjan Buxipatra, Simanchal Mahapatra, Gourishankar and others & appealed to prepare a comprehensive document mentioning their pro-people work through journalism and share with the next gen of journos. DIPRO Sri Basanta Pradhan and Ex-DIPRO Sri Jalandhar Pushika joined the condolence meet and paid floral tributes.
On the occasion of International Nurses Day, the media members of Media Cares Rayagada felicitated all the nurses and mid-wives of the dedicated Covid Hospital at JK Pur and expressed their gratitude towards their sustained service for the corona affected by risking their lives and of their family members. Journos of JK pur & Kolrara took the lead in the felicitation process.
