Rayagada Dist bagged National Jal Shakti Award

Rayagada, November 18: On a scintilatting development, Rayagada District bagged National JAL SHAKTI JAN BHAGIDARI AWARD (JSJB 1.0),2024. Rayagada has been judged as one of the best performing districts in JSJB 1.0 in category 3 in Eastern Zone & elevated to get the National Award .
Akshaya Kumar Khemundu, CDO cum EO, ZP, Rayagada & Dist Nodal Officer JSJB received the National Award(Citation,Trophhy & a cash award of 25 lakhs) from C R Patil, Hon’ble Minister of Jal Shakti.
Hon’ble President of India Smt Draupadi Murmu graced the occasion as Chief guest & presented the National Water Awards 2024 to different winneres across the country.
Khemundu in receiving the award at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi said that it is the team effort of the Rayagada dist specially the Engineers of Panchayatraj dept., who did a commendable job. The engineers of Minor Irrigation dept, officials of forest dept & watershed also made a good contribution in the mission JSJB 1.0.
Conserving the water in different methodologies is the main objective of this mission & the Ministry of Jalshakti, Govt of India, which is intervening & initiating different methods for this great cause specially in conserving & catching the water.
Collector Asutosh Kulkarni wished the entire team for this great achievement which has brought recognition in the National level. Moreover he emphasized to continue the good work for JSJB 0.2 and in other sectors to bring more laurels for the District.
