RAIPUR – SEVEN KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT (!).

RAIPUR:Atleast Seven migrant labourers were killed and several others were injured in a road accident that took place on National Highway-53 in Raipur on Saturday.
The road accident took place at Serikhedi under Telibandha police station limits in wee hours, said Telibandha Station House Officer (SHO) Ramakant Sahu.
A bus speeding towards Gujarat’s Surat from Ganjam district of Odisha crashed into a truck leaving seven migrant labourers dead on the spot and seven other injured, said SHO Sahu.
Inspector Sahu further informed that the injured were rushed to Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur while others were kept in the building of Nagar Panchayat, Mandir Hasaud.
The bus ferrying 59 passengers crashed into the rear side of the truck when it was taking a turn. The bus driver fled the spot but he will be nabbed soon based on the details of vehicle and its owner.
After learning about the tragic road accident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Yadav, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Satish Thakur and other police personnel rushed to the spot for undertaking rescue exercise and to clear the road.
Getting the speedy information about the road mishap in Raipur Odisha DGP Mr Abhay has now claimed lives of eight Odias lost. The DGP, Odisha, has provided information regarding the latest development.
As per the direction of the Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Odisha Police is in touch with their Chhattisgarh counterpart. This was informed by the DGP on his Twitter handle.
Besides, an Odisha police team led by SDPO Padampur has left for Raipur to assist the cops of the neighbouring state.
Sources said,the accident took place at around 3.30 am on Saturday, the death toll in the mishap has risen to eight while over fifty labourers are under the care of Raipur administration, said DGP Abhay.All the injured area being treated at Raipur Medical College Hospital and the post mortem of the deceased labourers will be conducted soon.
