PwDs in SAKSHAM distribute porridge near Rayagada bus station

Rayagada, (Badal Tah) : While entire Rayagada was bustling with Hanuman Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, Maha Bishuba & Pana Sankranti and Odia New Year, Persons with Disabilities(PwDs) led by Ms Anita Nanda, District President, Samadrusti, Kshyamata Vikas Anusandhan Mandal(SAKSHAM), Odisha Vikalanga Mancha District Secretary Jalandhar Bacheli and SAKSHAM Paschim Prant Secretary Shyam Kumar Das, who are PwD themselves, distributed porridge near ITDA office to more than thousand passersby including Dangaria women from a Primarily Vulnerable Tribal Group(PVTG) from Niyamagiri Hills. Divyangs were at the forefront and organized this program to spread the message of universal brotherhood.
The event was jointly inaugurated by SAKSHAM Rajya Sanrakhyak Dr Badal kumar Tah, Vice President Ramachandra Sahu, Odisha Adibasi Manch State Convenor Bidulata Huika, Councillor Manjula Miniyaka, RSS Nagar Karyabaha Bidya Panda, Youth wing leaders Ajay Chullet, SC cell Nagar President T Nagaraju, Chittaranjan Pradhan, Shashibhushan Hota, Chintu Choudhary, Vidyasagar, Shugha Mohanty, Sasmita Dash, Rachna Panigrahi, Rinki Sahu, Ajay Rath, Bijaya Dash, Naresh Bidika, Bijay Ullaka, Jagu Majhi, Sushant Mishra and others.
In the beginning, the program was started by garlanding the photo of Mother India and lighting lamps with the slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Saksham Bharat Samarth Bharat. Pana or porridge prepared in Odia tradition was distributed to around thousands of passersby. Volunteers of SAKSHAM helped in smooth distribution. Local netizens have appreciated such efforts of Divyangs in mainstreaming themselves in the society. This has augmented the confidence of the differently abled people and has proved that Divyangs can. In the future, many programs will be organized under the leadership of the Divyangs not only in the district, but also in the entire western region, said the state general secretary Shyam Kumar Dash.
