‘PUSHPA’ SWAG GETS FLOP – Koraput Men Arrested for Smuggling Sandal Wood.

Koraput,13/04/23:On dated 12.04.2023 at 09.30 AM during the time of police patrolling received information that a huge quantity of sandal wood transporting in a Bolero Pickup bearing Regd. No. AP-39-UK-6427 towards Visakhapatnam (A.P). The patrolling party detained the said vehicle on NH-26 near village Panasmangudi, Sunki P. S of koraput at about 12.35 PM and apprehended the driver of the Bolero Pickup. On suspicion they verified the said Bolero Pickup.
On verification of the Bolero Pickup bearing Regd. No. AP-39-UK-6427 it was found that there was huge quantity of sandal wood in small cutting pieces kept inside the secret chamber of the Carrier(dala) in a concealing manner from which the freshness of the sandal wood smell was coming out. Hence they detained and guarded the above noted Bolero Pickup vehicles after following all the provision.
The net quantity of the seized sandal wood is 223 kg 480 gm which is approx.2,50,000 Indian Currency along with one Bolero Pickup, which was used for transporting the sandal wood. Cops have also arrested one accused person identified as Laxman Khara (38), S/o- Late Udhab Khara of village Champaput, PS- padwa, Dist- Koraput.

Under the leadership of Mr. Manoj Behera, SDPO, Sunabeda P. S headed by Raiding team by ASI Rohidas Bidika, Sunki P. S, Drv. Hav/06 Debendra Kumar Pradhan, C/745 Debendra Sahu and HG/426 Sambit Dasa was successful to nab accused. This is highly appreciated to cops by Intellectual & Senior citizens of koraput.
