Publication of final voter list of Rayagada District: Women considerably outnumber men

Rayagada, January 8: District Election Officer and District Collector Srimati Swadhadev Singh has published the list of voters in Rayagada district. Number of voters in 138-Gunpur, 139-Bissam Cuttack and 140-Rayagada constituencies of the district has been published. As of January 5 this year, 7,04,503 total voters are there out of which 3,31,844 are male & 3,72, 474 are female & 185 are Transgenders. As of October 27, 2023, there were 6,91,971 voters in the district. In the current year, 32,189 young voters above 18 years of age were included, while 19,657 voters were excluded due to various reasons.

Gunpur Constituency has 2,21,495 voters out of which 1,06684 are male and 1,14,762 are female and 49 Transgenders. Similarly, the names of 2,32,442 voters have been published in the voter list in Bissam Cuttack constituency out of which 39 are transgenders,  1,06,837 are male and 1,25,566 are female. In Rayagada constituency, there are 2,50,566 voters out of which 1,18,323 male and 1,32,146 female and 97 transgender voters.

883 Booth Level Officers including 87 Booth Level supervisors were appointed in this final voter list preparation program. Rayagada district has a total of 883 booths. There are 289 booths in Gunpur, Gudari, Chandrapur, Padmpur, Ramnaguda blocks, Gunpur Municipality and Gudari NAC under Gunpur constituency. There are 293 booths in Muniguda, Bissam Cuttack, Kalyansinghpur and Kolnara blocks of Bismaktak constituency. Similarly there are 133 booths in Kashipur block, 112 booths in Rayagada block and 56 booths in Rayagada Municipality under Rayagada constituency.

Coverage of Electoral Photo Identity card (EPIC) in the district as per Draft Electoral Roll-2024 is 100%. The gender ratio of the voters in the entire district is 1122. In Bissam Cuttack constituency it is highest, ie, 1175. The lowest is in Gunupur constituency, ie, 1076. In Rayagada constituency it is 1117.  Ratio of Electors to Population is 65.77 out of which it is 69.85 for female. Hence, female voters will play a pivotal role in winnability of the candidates.

The final voter list has been handed over to the representatives of the three major political parties namely BJD, BJP and Congress by the District Election Officer-cum- District Collector. Additional District Magistrate Bhaskar Chandra Raita, Rayagada Sub-Collector-cum-Sub-Divisional election officer Shrimati Kalyani Sanghamitra Devi, Deputy Collector Suryamani Bhoi, Assistant Collector Shri Baral were present during the handover.
