Professional Drug Peddlers nab by STF

Bhubaneswar:On the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by team of STF, BBSR near vegetable market, Naya Bazar, under Sahadevkhunta PS jurisdiction Dist. Balasore on 07.11.2021 against illegal trade of Narcotic Drugs and apprehended two drug peddlers namely 1) Bapi @ Ashok Kumar Behera S/o- Late Pravakar Behera of Nayabazar (vegetable market) PS- Sahadevkhunta Dist- Balasore and 2) Bijay Kumar Yadav S/o-Satyanarayan Yadav, of Aaraa, PS -Katihar, Dist – Patna, Bihar, A/P – Ranipatna, PS – Sahadevkhunta, Dist – Balasore.
During search Brown Sugar weighing 01 Kg 052 gram and other incriminating materials were recovered & seized from their possession. The accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which the accused persons were arrested and forwarded to the court of Spl. Judge cum District & Sessions Judge, Balasore, Dist. Balasore. In this connection STF PS Case No.36 dated 08.11.2021 U/s. 21(c)/29 NDPS Act, 1985 was registered. Investigation is on.
Since 2020, STF in the special drive against narcotic drugs has seized more than 43 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin and more than 86 quintals 81 kg (86.81) of Ganja /Marijuna and arrested more than 100 drug dealers/peddlers.
