Priority will be given to Research on Historical Gudahandi & Kui Languages, Sanjaya Sathpathy, Vice Chancellor

Bhawanipatna:After joining as the first Vice Chancellor of Kalahandi University Prof. Dr. Sanjay Sathpathy addressed to the media on Friday morning.
In his briefing,Prof.Sathpathy said my priority was placed on the formation of the University Syndicate, the filling of vacancies, allocation of government funds, the development of infrastructure, etc., on the basis of which everyone sought to make Kalahandi University an informative place on the education map of India.
Sathpathy said that the arrangements would be made to do more research on the “Gudhandi” and the ancient “Kui Bhasha”, which exist from the prehistoric times of Kalahandi.
He also said that at least one hundred acres of land would be needed for the development of the university’s infrastructure, with an emphasis on the establishment of advanced departments on tribal courses, the translation department, the PhD department and the new modern department. He said the ancient Asha Sagar in Bhawanipatna would be adopted as adopt pond and the study would focus on improving all the infrastructure of Kalahandi College, filling the vacancies and various aspects.
Dr (Prof.) Sathpathy was the commerce lecturer at Kalahandi Government College for ten years and is very familiar with the district. He is the author of 24 books and writer and a good speaker during his long 36-year teaching career in the Department of Commerce.
In afternoon, Dr. Sathpathy was felicitated on behalf of Mahabir Cultural Institute under the chairmanship of Jayant Behera.On this occasion, Dr. Sathpathy express his interest to open a study on performing arts and suggested that more research could be done on local folk dances such as Ghumura and other folk dances of the locality.
