Prez Droupadi Murmu’s 3-Day Odisha Tour Postponed for Cyclone Dana

Bhubaneswar: Due to the threat of cyclone Dana looming over Odisha, President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled three-day visit to Odisha has been postponed.

The state government informed the President’s Secretariat and the Union Home Ministry about the postponement. The alternative date for her visit has not been announced.

During this now postponed visit, President Murmu was to visit Mayurbhanj, Puri, and Bhubaneswar. She was to reach her native village in Mayurbhanj district on October 23. She was to be the chief guest at the 75th annual celebrations at the Gopabandhu Ayurvedic College in Puri on October 24 and was to be in Bhubaneswar for the 40th annual convocation of Utkal University on October 25.

According to official sources, Odisha government communicated with the central authorities regarding the postponement of the President’s visit due to administrative challenges posed by the possible cyclone.
