Prem Singh Tamang Takes Oath as Sikkim Chief Minister for 2nd Straight Term
Gangtok: Prem Singh Tamang, the President of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Sikkim for his second consecutive term on Monday.
Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Tamang at a ceremony held in Paljor Stadium.
The SKM secured a landslide victory in the recent elections, winning 31 out of 32 seats in the assembly.
In contrast, the opposition Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), which had governed the state for 25 years until 2019, could only secure one seat.
