Berhampur:In an attempt for public interest to make police more responsible, accountable and people-friendly, special mobile phone numbers have been provided to all police stations in Berhampur police district during Dec,2014.
The Closed User Group (CUG) phone numbers have been made operational which will facilitate communication with police headquarters and other police stations.As per the SoP, a register would be maintained to note the number of received calls by the IICs of the police stations. Still, if a call is not received, complainants can call the control room by dialling 9437582100. They can also send messages to the mobile phone numbers, adding that the numbers would be functional round-the-clock, as quoted in a press meet by the SP.
Today the dream project of “MO Sarkar”, most of the time the CUG numbers are switched off or No-reply when public calls or Media calls to IIC in some police stations in Berhampur police distrct.(?).Presume responded reply is quite formal Boss is not available wise to call later (!).
In receipt some grievances from various sector of people of Berhampur Pinak Mishra, SP communicated a strong warning to all IICs’of Berhampur police district mentioning “Hence such kind of complain should come to my Desk”
This also noticed by the higher authority for reminder as a token which is to be verified by the competent authority on demand of natural justice to public and to maintain 5T norms, Mishra added.
