Police Foil Robbery Plan, Arrest 5 In Berhampur

Berhampur:Sadar Police Berhampur arrested 5 dacoits while they were planning to commit robbery near here early Wednesday Morning.
According to sources, while a team led by Sub Inspector Kelu Charan Mallick was on patrolling duty on Tuesday night, it received information about 5 anti-socials meeting at in the back side of Pani Mahaprabhu Temple located near Lochapada-Gurunthi,Berhampur.
The police team rushed to the spot and conducted a raid on the place. They nabbed 5 of the five anti-socials.
During a search on the spot, 02 (Two) Iron Sword, two iron rods, Four live country made bombs, one iron cutter blade, and Other articles.
The arrested anti-socials were identified as K. Mohan Rao (35 Yrs), Lochapada, PS- B. Sadar, Tarini Das (21 Yrs), Lochapada, PS- B. Sadar, Dist- Ganjam,Druba Sahu (23 Yrs), Village- Jhada Ankuli, Rampa Sahi, PS- B. Sadar, ,Kuna Gouda (25 Yrs), Village- Lathi, Gouda Sahi, PS- B. Sadar, and Ajit Swain (21 Yrs), Village- Banthapalli, Canal Sahi, PS- Digapahandi.
All of them have criminal status and many cases pending against them at different police stations, IIC Mahindra Sahu said.
According to police In the intervening night of 06.10.2021 at about 02.10 A.M. the above noted accused persons were assembled in the back side of Pani Mahaprabhu Temple located near Lochapada-Gurunthi road under Berhampur Sadar P.S. armed with deadly weapons and making preparation to commit dacoity on the Petrol Pump, near Techno park, Lochapada-Gurunthi road in the dead hours of night.
Getting the information SI Kelu Charan Mallick and other Police staff of Berhampur Sadar PS conducted raid and apprehended the above five accused persons with the above incriminating articles. K. Mohan Ro was previously involved in 20 Criminal Cases of different Police Station of Berhampur. Kuna Gouda is involved in 12 Criminal cases, Tarini Das is involved in 09 criminal cases, Dhruba Sahu is involved in 03 criminal cases and Ajit Swain is involved in 03 criminal cases in different Police station of Berhampur. They are being forwarded to the court today. Investigation of the case is in progress.
