POLICE COMMEMORATION DAY: BERHAMPUR POLICE PAY TRIBUTE TO COVID HEROES

BERHAMPUR: The 60th Police Commemoration Day was observed in Berhampur Police district on Wednesday. The event was organized at Reserve Police officials at Ambapua police ground.
DIG Southern Range,Satyabrata Bhoi, joined as chief guest and SP,Berhampur Pinak Mishra joined as Guest and oversaw the parade.
The cops paid homage to the police officers who laid down their lives in the line of duty during Covid19 pandemic. A two-minute silence was also observed for the police who were martyred this year. The cops paid floral tributes and gun salute to the martyrs during the event. The police band also paid tributes.
DIG Bhoi, began with reading out the honourable Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal and the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik message. Both of them opined that the State Police is very proudly known for being loyal to their duties and that they are a source of inspiration and motivation for the entire state.
He said, on the eve of 61st.Saheed Diwas, I would like to pay homage to the brave officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.So, on this day I request everyone to regard the security officials which they rightly deserve.
Joining as guest SP,Pinak Mishra said in his brief and promised “Jobs have been offered to the martyred family as part of rehabilitation.Mishra also appeal the Officers and the Guests on gallery to give a standing pray to the martyred. “We also need to say Jai Police.” October 21 in 1959, as many as ten Central Reserve Police Force personnel had been martyred in crossfire with China at Ladakh. Since then, the Police Commemoration Day is observed every year on the same day as a mark of remembrance.
