POLICE BUST SATTA RACKET IN BERHAMPUR CITY

Berhampur: Police, today busted a racket of satta (a local form of gambling) operators following the arrest of five persons from Hanuman Nagar,Berhamour under Bada Bazaar Police station.
The arrested accused has been identified as Santoshini Moharana, K, Bippra, Koteswara Patra, G.Balaji and Jitendra Das of Berhampur in Ganjam.
The police had information regarding illegal activities by satta operators within the Bada Bazaar police limits.
Investigations have revealed that the arrested accused indulged in Satta gambling, the modus operandi of which is quite simple.
Further the report said, on Tuesday based on reliable source regarding satta Gambling at Hanuman Nagar in city the police team conducted a raid over a tea stall of accused Santoshini Moharana where Satta betting chits and drawl of lucky numbers since last week. The noted accused persons were canvassing the common people for betting in Satta Lucky numbers under the Online “Kalyani Madhuri Sridevi,Time Bazaar”. The accuse persons have falsely assured the public of getting 90 times higher profit in one rupee and were cheating the people(!).
During raid the police have seized Cash Rs.44,660/- 59 numbers of Satta (!) number Chit books, 3 nos Smart phones and one Nokia Keypad Phone and one Hero Passion Pro two wheeler. ,Further investigation is underway.
