POLICE BANK OFFICIALS TO PREVENT BANK FRAUD

Koraput:A few days later, police launched an investigation after a bank loan from a bank account in Koraput disappeared from an account of an account holder who had borrowed money from an agricultural loan and kalia youjana financial assistance scheme.

A press conference was held at the Koraput Town Police Station with a discussion between police and bank officials on how banks can curb the scam after it became apparent that bank employees were involved in the scam.  SDPO Gunanidhi Mallick advised banks to be more vigilant and not to fall prey to customer fraud at the hands of their employees and outside brokers.  It has instructed banks to make CCTV cameras more efficient and functional.  Officials from all the city’s banks said they would look into how to prevent fraud in the future.  Town police IIC Dhiren Patnaik, bank officials and journalists were present at the conference.
