PM Modi’s UK-Maldives Tour to Boost Strategic and Regional Cooperation
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins a two-nation diplomatic visit to the United Kingdom and the Maldives on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening India’s strategic partnerships and reinforcing regional cooperation.
During his UK visit from July 23–24, PM Modi will meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to review the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). Discussions are set to cover trade, technology, defence, climate change, education, and cultural exchanges. The leaders will also address pressing regional and global issues of mutual concern. Modi is expected to call on King Charles III during the trip.
In the second leg, PM Modi travels to the Maldives on July 25–26, marking the first high-level visit during President Mohamed Muizzu’s tenure. Key talks will focus on the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership. Modi will be the Guest of Honour at the Maldives’ 60th Independence Day celebrations on July 26.
