New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a significant three-day visit to Poland and Ukraine, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations with both nations.

Modi’s journey begins with his arrival in Poland on Wednesday, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 45 years. This visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. In his departure statement, Modi emphasized, “My visit to Poland is particularly meaningful as we celebrate 70 years of diplomatic ties. Poland is a crucial economic partner in Central Europe, and our shared values of democracy and pluralism further solidify our bond.”

During his time in Poland, Modi will hold meetings with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda to deepen the partnership between the two countries. He will also connect with the vibrant Indian community residing in Poland.

Following his visit to Poland, Modi will travel to Ukraine on August 23. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, amidst the ongoing conflict in the region.
