Pawan Kumar Tiwari assumes charge as CRPF Commandant

Rayagada, October 1: Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) is deployed in different parts of Odisha mainly to upkeep peace & tranquility and monitor internal security. It is also involved in several civic action programmes. It has proved it’s competence in 189th Battalion stationed at Bolangir. Recently Shri Pawan Kumar Tiwari has assumed charge as CRPF Commandant of this coveted 189th Battalion, which especially looks after Left Wing Extremism(LWE) in Bolangir and Bargarh districts.
He is a science graduate from Delhi University and an Engineer of small arms. Tiwari, after joining as Assistant Commandant during 1991, has never looked back. With a basic training at Internal Security Academy in Mount Abu(Rajasthan), he served at most difficult terrains of the country namely Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Manipur, Tamilnadu, etc affected by terrorism, insurgency and Naxalism in different capacities and got laurels from several quarters for his competence and commitment. He even efficiently handled the security of Prime Minister of India at his residence, , office & parliament of India.
Immediately after assuming charge, he interacted with his colleagues regarding present strategies, plans and perspectives. With his large and varied experience, this unit will certainly meet the challenges ahead under his able & pro-people administrator.
