PART OF ROURKELA DECLARED CONTAINMENT ZONE BY THE ADMINISTRATION

ROURKELA: In two days time corona positive cases in Rourkela has increased to more than 122 numbers which is very alarming. As the data reveals, the super spreader of Sector-16 case was an old man(64) who had breathed his last due to corona few days back and now because of him more than 95 cases have become corona positive in two days time. Administration is now trying to contain it as earlier as possible.
Today because of that old man another 46 persons have tested corona positive and few of them are from Basanti Colony and Golghar area, hence, the local administration have declared some part of these two areas as containment zone and swab test with other tests have been undertaking in these areas. Also contract tracing work is going on. In Basanti colony, street from Qr no-DM-20 to DM-29, DM-3 to DM-13, roads connecting from main road to these boundaries, street starting from Qr no-FE-121 to FE-133 and Leprosy pada gate to remain closed as containment zone.
Similarly in Golghar area-4 has been sealed as containment zone. The collector of Sundergarh has already visited Rourkela yesterday and discussed with top officials how to contain this and the strategy to restrict further spread. When few media personalities had asked about any plan to shut down in Rourkela like it is done in some cities of Odisha, he denied it for now and if situation gets worse then proper decision will be taken in this regard. Recently, RTO , Rourkela has restricted vehicle owners going to office until unless there is any serious issue is involved
Ministry of Road and Transport has issued a notice to postpone and validate license of vehicles whose license have expired between 1st of February and June 30th. Police is now taking guard in the premises to restrict the movement of people in the RTO premises. The way corona is spreading wings in last few days, if proper action is not taken then corona positive cases will increase multifold.
