Malkangiri: Over 2000 personnel of two Border Security Force (BSF) battalions are to be shifted from Odisha to enhance security in the terror-hit Jammu area near the Pakistan border.
According to official sources, this decision has been taken following recent upsurge in the terrorist activity in the area. The two units of BSF will be shifted from the anti-Naxal operations grid from the Malkangiri district of Odisha to Jammu, official sources told PTI.
These two BSF units will be deployed as the “second line” of defence behind the first tier of its units deployed along the international border in the Jammu area to check infiltration of terrorists, the PTI report added.
