“OPS STRIKE” Conducted all DPOs’ Under Central Range, Cuttack

Cuttack,( 14.01.2026):Under the supervision and direction of DGP,Odisha ,OPS STRIKE was conducted IG,Central Range, Cuttack across all districts of the Central Range on 14 January 2026 with the objective of strengthening law and order, preventing crime, checking anti-social activities, and enforcing traffic, excise, and NDPS laws. Special teams were constituted at police station levels, extensive naka checking was undertaken, and focused drives against excise, narcotics, and warrant execution were carried out.

District-wise Highlights:

1. Jagatsinghpur District

            •           4 special teams constituted in each PS

            •           17 hotels/lodges checked

            •           20 naka/check posts activated

            •           183 vehicles checked; ₹22,500 fine imposed

            •           3 drunken driving cases registered

            •           Special drive against excise & narcotics offences

            •           14 excise cases registered; 4 persons arrested

            •           Total excise seizure: 62 litres

            •           4 NBWs executed

2. Nayagarh District

            •           4 special teams constituted in each PS

            •           21 hotels/lodges checked

            •           6 naka/check posts activated

            •           504 vehicles checked; ₹1,35,000 fine imposed

            •           3 drunken driving cases registered

            •           Special drives against excise & narcotics offences

            •           17 excise cases registered; 17 persons noticed

            •           Total excise seizure: 114.8 litres I.D. liquor & 9 litres F.L.

            •           5 NBWs executed

3. Khordha District

            •           2 special teams constituted in each PS limit

            •           27 hotels/lodges checked

            •           13 naka/check posts activated

            •           203 vehicles checked; ₹2,92,500 fine imposed

            •           2 drunken driving cases registered

            •           2 NDPS cases and 2 excise cases registered

            •           4 persons arrested (2 NDPS + 2 Excise)

            •           NDPS Seizure:

            •           Brown sugar: 52.74 grams

            •           1 country-made 7 mm pistol with 3 live rounds

            •           ₹11,000 cash

            •           1 Honda Hornet motorcycle (OD-33-P-7150)

            •           1 Oppo mobile phone (IMEI Nos. 864883052338492 & 864883052338484)

            •           Ganja: 40.250 kg, 1 Honda City motorcycle & 1 Oppo A38 mobile phone

            •           Total excise seizure: 8.8 litres C.S. liquor

4. Puri District

            •           485 vehicles checked

            •           Fine amount realized: ₹3,01,000 from 282 defaulter vehicles

            •           8 excise cases detected

            •           Seizure: 35.500 litres I.D. liquor, 7.380 litres F.L., 4 litres liquid bhanga

            •           7 sand-laden trucks detained

5. Kendrapada District

            •           21 hotels/lodges checked

            •           16 naka/check posts activated

            •           110 vehicles checked; ₹1,50,500 fine imposed

            •           1 NBW executed

6. Cuttack District

            •           22 hotels/lodges checked

            •           282 vehicles checked; ₹3,45,000 fine imposed

            •           5 drunken driving cases registered

            •           Special drives against excise & narcotics offences

            •           5 excise cases registered; 5 persons noticed

            •           Total excise seizure: 25.50 litres

            •           12 NBWs executed/recalled

7. Jajpur District

            •           12 hotels/lodges checked

            •           10 naka/check posts activated

            •           215 vehicles checked; ₹49,500 fine imposed

            •           No drunken driving or narcotics cases detected

            •           6 excise cases registered; 6 persons arrested

            •           Total excise seizure: 37.6 litres

            •           2 NBWs executed

Conclusion:

OPS STRIKE has yielded significant results in terms of crime prevention, seizure of contraband, traffic enforcement, and execution of pending warrants across the Central Range. Such coordinated enforcement drives will continue to ensure public safety, curb illegal activities, and maintain law and order.
