Berhampur:On Thursday afternoon, Prashant Bhupati,IIC Badabazar P.S on receiving credible information regarding illegal manufacturing of adulterated, spurious & duplicate IMFL of genuine brands by some miscreants at Jagannath Vihar 8th Line, Mosani Sahi near Water Tank.
Acting in action in receipt of the input IIC Badabazar PS along with a team of Excise Staff deputed by Superintendent of Excise Berhampur conducted Joint raid in the rented house of Manoranjan Pattanayak @ Bulu at the above noted place and seized 48 liters of sprit, 540 liters of duplicate adulterated spurious liquor of different brands i.e. No1 Mc Dowell, Royal Stag, Royal Green, Imperial Blue, Caramel Colour 5 liters, 500 ml of liquid essence, huge quantity of duplicate trademark labels, plastic caps of the above branded IMFL companies, duplicate adhesive labels of Excise Department from the spot house.
It has been so far established that, Manoranjan Pattanayak @ Bulu (35) of 7th line Sriram Nagar, Anil Sahu of Khandia Kumuti Sahi, Narayana Bisoi @ Tukuna Bisoi of New Kalupatro Sahi with the assistance of others have been manufacturing the above spurious liquor since last 8 months taking the hose of Smt Sajani Behera at the above noted place on rent. A sum of Rs. 1,51,000/- , Bank Pass Books, ATM debit cards of different Banks have been seized from the house of accused Bulu Patnaik who has absconded.
Anyhow to protect Intimation has been given to different banks to freeze the bank accounts of the accused persons. The accused Narayan @ Tukuna Bisoi (39) S/o Ananda Bisoi of New Kalupatro Sahi has been arrested on 27.5.2021 at 10 PM and being forwarded to Court today. Investigation of the case is in progress.
In this connection Badabazar P.S case no 105 Dt.27.05.2021 U/s 272/273/ 420/482/483/488/34 IPC R/w Sec.103/104 of Trademarks Act 1999 / R/w Sec-51/52/53/ 56/57/59/63 of Food Safety & Standards Act-2006/ R/w Sec- 52(a)/55 Odisha Excise Act has been registered.
