One person arrested for false promise of JE job through OSSC
Berhampur , (Odishabarta )On 12.03.24 a Complaianant Babul Sethi (25), S/o- Pramod Sethi of Narendrapur of Balaji Pentha Sahi, NarendraPur under Chatrapur PS reported in writing at B.N.Pur PS that he came in contact with one Asish Majhi(28), S/o- Tarani Majhi of Gurandi Sahi, PS- Gurandi, Dist- Gajapati (Paralakhemundi) in MKCG MCH playground at Berhampur through one of his friend Panchanan Sethi, who is a member of Berhampur Physical Academy. The accused person developed good relationship with the complainant and assured him to give a post of Junior Engineer through O.S.S.C. Examination as he has good connections with various officers. But the complainant started to trust his words. Then the accused person Asish Majhi pressurized the complainant through his common friend Panchanan Sethi and said to arrange for sum of Rs. 5,00,000/- cash to get the job.
On 04.09.2023 accused person asked the complainant Babul Sethi to come to the opposite of Oxford Public School near Lanjipalli Bypass and asked for Rs. 5,00,000/-. Then advised him to pay through different Online payment modes in instalments if he was unable to pay the whole amount at a time. The complainant also paid him through Online UPI transactions on Google-Pay on different dates. When the complt asked about the job Asish Majhi told him to appear in the examination and the rest work will be done by him. But later when Babul Sethi could not clear the examination he realized that he has been cheated by the accused who is a fraud with fake assurance of giving him Junior Engineer post through O.S.S.C. examination. When Babul Sethi asked him to return his money he confessed his guilt and promised to return all of his money by the end of Nov 2023. But later on he neither appeared nor returned his money.
During course of investigation SI S. Mallick arrested accused Asish Majhi(28), S/o- Tarani Majhi of Gurandi Sahi, PS- Gurandi of Gajapati district. Further investigation is going on to identify the involvement of other accused persons if any.
