Odisha’s Koraput Bags PM’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration for Holistic Development

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: In a proud moment for Odisha, Koraput district has been selected for the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2024 under the ‘Holistic Development of Districts’ category.
The honour will be conferred by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Civil Services Day celebrations at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on April 21.
Koraput’s recognition comes as a result of its outstanding efforts in implementing 11 key Central government schemes with a focus on inclusive growth, effective governance, and sustainable development. The district administration’s work spans sectors such as health, education, infrastructure and livelihood enhancement, marking a model of citizen-centric governance.
The award comprises a trophy, a scroll, and a financial incentive of Rs 20 lakh, to be used for the implementation of public welfare projects or bridging resource gaps in ongoing programmes.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the Koraput administration on X, commending District Collector V Keerthi Vasan and his team for their exemplary efforts. “May they continue to achieve bigger milestones and inspire others,” he noted.
Deputy Chief Ministers K V Singhdeo and Pravati Parida also extended their appreciation. Singhdeo called the award “a testament to their unwavering commitment to inclusive growth and transformative public service”, while Parida praised the administration’s dedication to good governance.
