Odisha’s Aska Police Station Best Police stations in India

Berhampu:Aska police station in Odisha’s Ganjam district has been selected as one of the three best police stations in the country for the year 2022 by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA. Tarun Kumar, Joint Director & Conference Secretary, Intelligence Bureau informed it to Odisha DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal in a letter dated January 2, 2023.
Aska Police Station had also secured the first position in overall performance rankings of all police stations in the state for the year 2022.
The main objective of the ranking was to improve the quality of policing and make the police stations friendly, they added.
Speakig to Inspector Prashant Sahu he said,”We are very happy as our Police station stood first in the country. It could be possible due to the team work and guidance of the SP (Ganjam) Brijesh Rai and Inspector General of Police, southern range Satyabrata Bhoi from time to time,” Sahu said.
The team had also taken feed-backs from the public about the community policing and functioning of the station.
Besides performances on detection, disposal of various crimes, enforcement, steps taken to prevent crimes, implementation of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS), the police station has also well infrastructure facilities like the women and child desk, child friendly corner, toilets etc, he said.
The SHO has been asked to be present in uniform with cross belt at the conference venue on January 19, 2023 for rehearsal and to receive the trophy on January 20, 2023.
Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik in a tweet has congratulated Aska police station as it has been selected as best police station in the country. Aska has also been declared as the best police station in CCTNS dashboard for 2022.
The State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) had carried out a survey to rank the police stations on various factors like grievance redressal, pendency of cases, detection and solving of cases, rate of conviction and filing of chargesheets. The police station had received 94.54 percent rating.
