Odisha Vigilance Nabs Tahsildar For Taking Rs 20K Bribe In Nayagarh

Nayagarh: Odisha Vigilance sleuths arrested a tahsildar and a private person in Nayagarh district on Wednesday for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. The accused have been identified as Dhobei Nayak, Tahsildar, Khandapara in Nayagarh district and Prasanna Kumar Sahoo(Private Person). Nayak and Sahoo have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a complainant to release his seized sand-laden hyva. Sahoo (Private Person) while accepting a demanded bribe of Rs 20,000 as per direction of Nayak was nabbed by the Vigilance team. The entire bribe money was recovered from Sahoo and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations in Nayak, from a DA angle.

In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No.11/2024 U/s-7PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered. The investigation is in progress against both the accused persons.
