Odisha State Women’s Commission Chairperson, Members Removed
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday removed Chairperson Minati Behera and all members of the Odisha State Commission for Women (SCW) from their posts.
A government statement confirmed the removal of Behera along with members Swarnalata Samal, Sujta Digal, Bijaya Barwa and Babita Swain.
Minati Behera was appointed as SCW Chairperson in 2019 by the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government. Before this role, she led the BJD’s women’s wing and had served as the Chairperson of the Odisha State Commission for Persons with Disabilities between 2015 and 2018
The other members of the commission, including Swarnalata Samal, Sujta Digal, Bijaya Barwa, and Babita Swain, were also appointed by the BJD government.
