ODISHA SALUTES COVID WARRIORS BY RECITING ‘BANDE UTKALA JANANI’

BHUBAESWAR:People from all walks of life and ages were seen reciting the ‘Bande Utkal Janani,’ at different places as per their conveniences with due abidance of the norms of social distancing , at 5.30 pm on Saturday to motivate COVID Warriors.
It may be mentioned here that Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Thursday urged people of the State to show solidarity with COVID Warriors by singing ‘Bande Utkala Janani’, at 5:30 PM on May 30 (Saturday).
Today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also sung ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ standing at the veranda of his residence Naveen Nivas. Similarly, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro and several legislators recited the song in front of the Odisha Assembly to honour COVID Warriors.
In the meanwhile, Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy accompanied by other state officials assembled in front of Lok Seva Bhawan to recite the state’s unofficial anthem. Besides, Police DG Abhay sang the song with other police personnel at Police Headquarters in Cuttack and Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi at Police Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with his family members sung Bande Utkal Janani’ to stand in solidarity with COVID Warriors of Odisha. Union Minister Pratap Sarangi also recited the song in his official residence in New Delhi as a mark of tribute to COVID-19 frontline workers.
On the other hand, social media is flooded with many videos posted across the globe where Odias were seen expressing solidarity with COVID warriors by singing Odisha’s unofficial state song, ‘Bande Utkal Janani’.
