Odisha Police To Provide AC Helmets to Help Traffic Constables To Beat Summer Heat

Bhubaneswar: After its successful use in Gujarat, West Bengal and some southern states, traffic cops in Odisha are going to use Air Conditioned (AC) helmets.

The Commissionerate Police is planning to procure Air Conditioned (AC) helmets to provide some respite to the traffic constables performing duty in the scorching heat wave conditions.

On Saturday, the Commissionerate Police conducted a trial run of the AC helmets in Bhubaneswar.

According to Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda, AC helmets will be used on an experimental basis for the next 3-4 days. If the feedback is good then these helmets will be implemented at the earliest.

An AC helmet can cool down the body temperature by almost 15 degrees. The helmet can work for 8 hours after a full charge of 6 hours.
