Baripada/Berhampur, Jan,15/24:The Baripada Police in Odisha has seized about 6.40 gms of brown sugar during the raid in city said a police officer on Tuesday.
Speaking about seizure, Officer said that we had carried out a raid round the corner of the Baripada police district..
On Monday at evening hours complainant. Ms.Krisanta Tigga, Sub Inspector of Police of Baripada Town Police station reported in writing that while she along with other PS staff were performing patrolling near Nico Factory, Palbani By Pass, Baripada, they detained two suspected persons including one Woman which subsequently confirmed as peddlers.
The duo paddlers while roaming by their Bajaj Platina motorcycle suspiciously to have contraband Brown Sugar with them the .The patrolling team nabs red handed the duo.
They have been identified as Chandra Sekhar Patra, Bijay Ramachandrapur, Mayurbhanj and Ms. Maheswari Naidu ,First Gate, under Bada Bazar Police station,Berhampur.
After abiding the guidelines and strict instruction by the Superintendent of Police, Mayurbhanj, as well following all the mandatory provisions of the NDPS Act, Ms. Krisanta Tigga seized net of 6.40 gms of Brown Sugar with Bajaj Platina motorcycle bearing Regd. No. OR 11 K 5008, two no’s of mobile phones and other articles.
“Apart from taking strong action against such illegal drugs trade, we are also aiming to continue this drive till we reach at the end point. Stringent action will impose people involved or arrested in such cases with an objective of bringing an end to the vicious cycle of drug peddling in the district a senior officer added.
While interacted with Inspector in Charge,Sumeet Soren,he said action already taken based on the complaint and the independent witnesses have been examined. he accused . persons Chandra Sekhar Patra and Ms.Maheswari Naidu were detained at Police station.
