Odisha MLAs to Attend Navy Day Celebrations in Puri with President Murmu
Bhubaneswar: In a significant show of solidarity and celebration, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from Odisha are set to participate in the Navy Day festivities in Puri on December 4.
This announcement was made by Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, who highlighted the importance of the event, which will also be graced by the presence of President Droupadi Murmu.
The Navy Day celebrations, scheduled to commence at 3:45 PM at the Blue Flag Beach in Puri, will feature a variety of naval displays, including bomb burst maneuvers, submarine sail pasts, and anti-submarine firing exercises. The event aims to showcase the multifaceted competencies of the Indian Navy and enhance maritime awareness among citizens.
To facilitate their participation, the MLAs will travel to the coastal pilgrimage town in special buses, with the option to bring their spouses to witness the naval display.
The Odisha Assembly is likely to be adjourned on the same day to allow lawmakers to attend the celebrations, with an official notice regarding this adjournment expected to be issued soon.
Preparations for the Navy Day event have been underway, with Indian Navy personnel conducting full-dress rehearsals at Puri beach for two consecutive days leading up to the celebrations. The event will feature 15 warships and 40 aircraft, illustrating the diverse capabilities of the Indian Navy.
Special arrangements have been made to accommodate local spectators and tourists, ensuring a smooth and grand celebration. The collaborative efforts between the Indian Navy and the Odisha government underline the importance of this annual event in fostering national pride and enhancing public interest in the maritime domain.
