Odisha Govt To Hike Old Age, Widow & Disability Pensions To Rs 3K
Bhubaneswar: “The newly elected BJP government in Odisha is working on increasing various pensions for eligible beneficiaries in the state”, said Nityananda Gond, Minister of Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department on Tuesday.
He said the process has already begun for increasing the old age, widow and disability pension in the state. The pension for such beneficiaries will be increased to Rs 3,000.
He also commented that preparations are in progress and discussions with the finance department are ongoing for necessary clearances. Regarding the lack of increase in scholarships, the Minister assured that the state government will review the matter and make suitable decisions.
