Odisha Govt Extends KYC Deadline for PM-KISAN By Six Months
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday announced an extension of six months for farmers enrolled under the CM-KISAN scheme to update their KYC and migrate to the Centre’s PM-KISAN programme. The fresh deadline will be effective from September 8, 2025.
Farmers will have to complete KYC, land record seeding and NPCI seeding within this period to access PM-KISAN benefits. To ensure wider coverage, the state has also launched a special drive to bring more farmers into the central scheme. Once the process is completed, CM-KISAN beneficiaries will become eligible for direct income support under PM-KISAN.
Official data shows that of the 51.54 lakh farmers registered under CM-KISAN, 34.85 lakh have so far been integrated into PM-KISAN. The new government has added more than six lakh farmers to the central scheme compared to last year.
The order issued by Principal Secretary Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee said the move aligns with PM-KISAN guidelines. Officials noted that the decision would increase the number of farmers receiving direct central assistance while enhancing the state’s welfare outreach.
The notification has been forwarded to departments including the Chief Secretary’s office, Agriculture and Food Production Directorate, Fisheries, Animal Resources Development and the Accountant General. It will also be published in the Odisha Gazette and uploaded on the Agriculture Department’s website.
