ODISHA GOVT ASKS ALL DEPTS TO APPOINT COVID COMPLIANCE OFFICER

BHUBANESWAR:The Odisha Government on Tuesday asked all the departments to appoint a senior officer as the COVID Compliance Officer who will ensure implementation of the COVID-19 protocol.

The General Administration & Public Grievance Department as written to all departments of the Government/Municipal Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation/ All Revenue Divisional Commissioners/ All Collectors in this regard.

According to the GA&PG dept, there has been a steady increase in Covid-19 cases in the State. It is incumbent upon all Government offices to ensure that requisite preventive and containment measures should be scrupulously implemented.

Any COVID infection in a Government office has serious implications which would, inter-alia, compromise the ability of the Government machinery to fight this pandemic.

As such, Government offices need to set the highest standard of preventive measures which would serve as a model for other offices. Hence it is advised that each Department/ Government office will appoint a senior officer as the COVID Compliance Officer who will ensure implementation of the COVID protocol. He will conduct daily office inspection with regard to the instructions contained in the COVID Protocol and submit a weekly COVID Audit report to the Head of Office in the attached format.

Upon receipt of the report, the Head of Office will initiate suitable corrective measures, as deemed fit besides taking stringent disciplinary action against wilful defaulters. Head of Offices will be personally responsible for adhering to all instructions related to prevention of COVID.

Random checks will be conducted by senior officers from other Departments/ Offices to examine the level of compliance and report submitted to the G.A. & P.G. Department. It is impressed upon all Government and Offices to ensure strict observance of the above the spread of COVID-19 Pandemic, the letter further read.
