BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Govt. is the first state to extend Lockdown till 30th April to fight the highly infectious disease. The state Odisha has been always advance in taking decision to check Covid19. Odisha had declared lockdown this morning which is the need of the hour. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said in a video message today.
“In view of the situation arising out of COVID-19, the state government today decided to extend the lockdown period till April 30,” .
During these days corona positive cases have been increased in a substantial way and to have a check on this State Govt. is always vigilant and proactive in taking suitable decision in time. Odisha Govt. has already mandatory mask from 9th April, this is the first state to do so and now the extension of lockdown when central Govt. is also thinking in the same way as hinted by the Honable’Prime Minister, which is still awaited. Corona cases in India is also increasing day by day and all intellectuals related to medical fraternity are also of the suggestion to extend lockdown period so that social distancing can be maintained and we can have a check or can break the chain.
The state cabinet has also given a proposal to Centre for extension of 21-day nationwide lockdown till April 30 to tackle the spread of COVID-19 in the country, CM said.
A decision to this effect was taken at the state Cabinet meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan here today.
Chief Minister expressing his concern over spread of COVID-19 in the state, said that the government has decided to close all the schools till June 17.So far, Odisha has reported 42 COVID-19 positive cases with one death.
All schools and educational institutions across the state will continue to remain shut till June 17 amid the COVID-19 lockdown.
Earlier, the state Government had announced closure of all educational institutions till March 30. However, it was subsequently extended till April in view of the 21-day nationwide lockdown.
