Odisha-Cold Wave Grips as Mercury Falls Less 10 Degree Celsius in Phulbani

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions prevailed in most parts Odisha while the temperature remained below 10 degrees Celsius at 11 places from across the State in last 24 hours, the Met Dept said.

Phulbani experienced the coldest temperature with 4.8 degree Celsius, followed by Angul with 6 degree Celsius, Daringbadi with 8 degree Celsius, Bhawanipatna with 8.2 degree Celsius, Koraput with 8.6 degree Celsius, Jharsuguda with 8.8 degree Celsius, Sundargarh, Balangir and Boudh with 9.5 degree Celsius each, and Suburnapur 9.8 degree Celsius.

The State Capital, recorded minimum temperature of 13.8 degree Celsius.

The weather remained dry and cold in the State with some places witnessing dense fog in the morning.

Vehicular movement was also affected in few places this morning due to dense fog.

People were seen sitting near fire in many places to comfort themselves in the chilly weather condition. It’s colder this year as compared to the previous year.
