Odisha: Bali Yatra Gets One-Day Extension, To Conclude on November 23
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has extended this year’s Bali Yatra by an additional day, with the trade fair now set to conclude on November 23 instead of November 22. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) announced the decision through a post on X (formerly Twitter) today. The iconic annual fair, which celebrates Odisha’s rich maritime heritage, began on November 15, coinciding with Kartika Purnima. Held on the banks of the Mahanadi in Cuttack, the event has been recognised as a state festival.
Bali Yatra attracts traders from across India, corporate entities and government agencies, offering a diverse range of products, including household goods, wooden crafts and decorative items.
The fair also features hundreds of food stalls serving regional and international cuisines, drawing thousands of visitors from various districts of Odisha.
This extension is expected to enhance public participation and boost trade opportunities at the festival, which remains a key cultural and economic highlight for the state.
