Odisha Assembly To Become Paperless; MLAs to Use Tabs For Digital Proceeding

Bhubaneswar: To usher the age of digitalization, the Odisha Assembly has decided to opt for a paperless digital system. Now all members will use tabs instead of paper files during House proceedings.
It is aimed at making the Assembly proceedings more efficient and environmentally friendly.
This venture will use the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC). It will members to access documents, reports, and other information digitally. The system is designed to reduce paper usage and promote transparency in the legislative process.
As per reports, one tab has been installed for each of the 147 members of the Assembly. The MLAs will use their assigned tabs to access documents, reports, and other information. This will end the need for paper.
The Odisha Assembly’s budget session will start on February 13. It will have 28 working days in two phases. The first phase will be till February 21. The second phase will begin on March 7.
The budget session will begin with the Governor’s address on February 13. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present the full budget for the financial year 2025-26 on February 17.
