Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: The Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin on September 18 and continue till September 25, according to a notification from the Speaker’s office.

The session will have only 7 working days, but it is expected to be intense and action-packed.

Opposition parties, including the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Congress, are preparing to strongly question the government on a number of issues. These include the recent death of an FM College student, the Balanga girl’s death, the Gopalpur gangrape case, the Mahanadi water dispute, the delay in student union elections, the OTET question paper leak, and compensation for flood victims.

These matters are expected to spark serious debates on women’s safety, law and order, and governance in the state.

At the same time, the government is planning to introduce several important bills during the session. With both sides ready to raise key points, the session is likely to witness heated exchanges.

All eyes will be on how the discussions unfold during the short but crucial monsoon session.
