Odia Made Mandatory For All Official Works in Odisha Rural Development Dept

Bhubaneswar: the use of Odia as the official language has been made mandatory by the Rural Development Department of Odisha.

Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh has issued an order making the use of Odia compulsory for all official purposes.

In a notice, he has directed that all office documents and correspondence, official meeting statements, resolutions, directives, and departmental communications should be published in Odia.

The cabinet memorandums of the department will be published in both Odia and English. Apart from it, all other official work will prioritize Odia. The directive has been issued to all officers, field officers, top engineers, and employees. It is aimed at the promotion of Odia in official communications.
