NTPC Talcher Kaniha Celebrates Odisha Diwas with Cultural Program and Walkathon

Talcher : NTPC Talcher Kaniha marked the occasion of Odisha Diwas with a vibrant cultural program and a walkathon. The evening event, which was attended by NTPC employees, union associations, welfare bodies—including Tanvi Sangam—and local community members, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Odisha through a series of engaging performances and activities, including Odishi dance, Sambalpuri dance, Chhau dance, and other Odia traditional dances.
The chief guest of the event, Shri A.K. Sehgal, Executive Director of NTPC (Talcher Kaniha), extended his warm wishes and congratulations to the NTPC Kaniha family. Speaking at the event, Shri Sehgal expressed pride in celebrating the mesmerizing culture of Odisha, acknowledging its significance in both local and national contexts. He emphasized NTPC Talcher Kaniha’s commitment to providing reliable and sustainable energy not only for Odisha but for the entire country. He further stated, “At NTPC Talcher Kaniha, our efforts go beyond power generation. We are deeply committed to contributing to a greener, brighter, and more sustainable future for the local communities we serve.”

The event also included a special speech by Dr. Amarendra Mishra, Professor at Utkal University, who delivered an insightful lecture on the historical significance of Odisha and its cultural heritage. The program concluded with Shri M. Panigrahi, AGM (EMD & MTP) and President of the Odisha Diwas Celebration Committee, thanking everyone for their participation, especially the NTPC Kaniha Odisha Celebration Committee, for organizing such a well-received event.
Earlier in the morning, NTPC Talcher Kaniha organized a walkathon as a mark of unity. This walkathon was an integral part of the day’s celebrations.
In the lead-up to Odisha Diwas, NTPC Talcher Kaniha, under the aegis of the Odisha Diwas Celebration Committee, also hosted several competitions to engage the community and highlight the region’s culture. Activities, including the Odia Speech Competition, Odia Song Contest, Sankha Hulahuli, Jhoti Chita, and Pith Competition, saw over 600 participants.
