NTPC Swayamsiddha Ladies Club organises a Food Festival, themed on “Go Green to Save Mother Earth”

Ranchi:In its endeavour to promote homemade food with family fun, *Swayamsiddha Ladies Club* of NTPC Mining HQ, Coal Mining HQ, Ranchi, in association with Employees Welfare Association, NTPC Coal Mining HQ, organised a one-day Food Festival themed on “Go Green to Save Mother Earth” on May 27, 2022, at MECON Community Hall, Ranchi.

The Foodfest was inaugurated by Smt. Abha Kumar, President, Shyamli Mahila Milan Club, MECON, in the august presence of Smt.Soni Verma, Senior Executive Member, Shyamli Mahila Milan Club, MECON, Smt. Mahua Mazumder, President, Swayamsiddha Ladies Club, and other esteemed members from both clubs.

Smt. Mahua Mazumder speaking on the occasion said women represent a symbol of power and endurance as they are known for multi-tasking starting from looking after their family and profession as well with ease. It is a proud moment as the ladies took the challenge to come out of their homes to showcase their talent by participating in the food festival to make it a grand success. 

On this occasion, Shri Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director(Coal Mining) appreciated the decorated stalls which depicted Mini India, and for bringing the flavours and dishes from various parts of the country under one roof. He was of all praise for the great efforts put in by all the members of Swayamsiddha Ladies Club for presenting the delicious food items, and Employees Welfare Association for successfully organising this Food Festival with the social message “Go Green to Save Mother Earth”.Shri Mazumder thanked MECON Administration for providing its community hall for organizing this event.

The Foodfest witnessed large participation for the food stalls by the ladies and the games stalls by the children. To encourage the participants, awards under various categories of nankeen, sweet and decorated stalls were distributed during the Foodfest.

Further to provide a platform to local vendors to showcase their skills with specialisation in healthy handmade food, traditional handicrafts & handlooms and artists with a special talent in art and culture were part of the food fest. The food festival was a huge success.
