NTPC Swayamsiddha Ladies Club Conducts Stitching and Self Defence Classes

Ranchi:With an objective to empower local women with skill development and girls with self- defense techniques. NTPC Swayamsiddha Ladies Club (SLC), Coal Mining Headquarters, Ranchi provided support for organising three Months Stitching classes for local women to harness their skills through in-house training on sewing and stitching to 20 beneficiaries.
In addition, the ladies club extended its support for organising three months classes on self-defense to 50 young girls. Both the courses were conducted by Swayamsiddha Ladies Club under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in association with Asha Home, orphanage shelter for children.
On the occasion of course completion, Chief Guest,Smt Padma Reddy , President,Swayamsiddha Ladies Club distributed course training & completion certificate to the successful candidates.
Speaking on the occasion Smt Reddy said It’s very heartening to see that after completion of the course, the participants have become competent to stitch different dresses which will help them become self-sufficient to support their families through earning livelihood. Further after the performance on self defense by participants ,she said it will boost confidence & provide safety to young girls, advised to practice regularly to sharpen their skills.
On the occasion, Smt Sanchita Konar,Vice President ,Smt Lakshmi Murthy ,Vice President , Smt MS Ramya ,Secretary ,Smt Mansa Verma .Secretary (CSR) ,Smt Parameshwari ,Cultural Secretary,SLC and Shri Amit Kumar Behera ,Senior Manager(Corporate Communication) were also present.
Members of Ladies Club planted fruit bearing saplings and distributed saplings to the local people to encourage greenery through plantation.
