NIRMAN’s Response to COVID – 19

BHUBANESWAR:NIRMAN, a leading voluntary organisation is committed to provide all possible support to India’s response to the COVID-19 challenge. Our immediate and the first response was to educate the rural and Adivasi and other communities towards the transmission of virus in the awake of COVID 19 outbreak in all the operational area of our Organisation in Kandhamal. Rayagada, Nayagada, and Kalahandi Districts. We continuously organized community based awareness programme, including prevention, hygiene, social distancing, and do’s and don’ts to be followed as precautionary measures.
Besides, we have been trying to explore the resources from our various Donors to extend our support to reach out the unattended vulnerable families & SAM & MAM children through food & safety essentials (as relief) for the different operational area of our Organisation.
NIRMAN also distributed the dry food of 290 Kits to SAM and MAM Children in area of Phiringia Block from 7th to 9th of May with the support of Indo Global Social Service (IGSSS), New Delhi. During the distribution of the relief items, ICDS Supervisors, ICDS Workers, Sarapanchas, Ward Members, PEOs and the Volunteers were present and advised the beneficiaries be safe and cautious.
Moreover, 630 Relief Kits including Dry Food of 358 Kits and 272 Kits of Child Intake were distributed from 14th to 17th of May in 7 GP of Phiringia Block of Kandhamal District by NIRMAN with the support from Azmi Premji Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI). The dry food kits were given for 15 days to 336 Non Ration Card marginalised families, 22 to Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and 272 Child Intake Kits to SAM and MAM Children. Besides, 90 Safety Kits were provided to Frontline Workers engaged for the essential services. During the distribution of relief items, CDPO, Tahasildar, ICDS Supervisors, PRI members, Volunteers and VDC members had extended their cooperation.
