NIRBHAYA’S MOTHER UPSET OVER “Tarikh pe Tarikh” OF EXECUTIONS

Delhi: “In our country, rapists are not punished, they are bred,” this is how Nirbhaya’s mother reacted to the postponement of executions.
Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi was visibly disturbed over the delay of execution of convicts and said if ‘hanging by death’ is in the law of this country, then the convicts must be hanged or we should burn the entire constitution.
The four men, namely Pavan Gupta, Mukesh Singh, Vinay Sharma and Akshay Thakur were due to hang on February 1 in Delhi’s Tihar jail.
“I had no hope of a miracle but I will fight,” she added. Meanwhile, Seema Kushwaha, the lawyer representing Nirbhaya’s family said that the court should not have delayed the execution warrants of the other three convicts on the basis of a plea entered by one of them.
