NAVEEN TO ODISHA POLICE – IMPLEMENT STRICT ACTIONAGAINST HABITUAL OFFENDERS

Bhubaneswar: Considering possibility of rise in domestic violence in the state during the lockdown, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed the DGP to keep a strict eye on the habitual offenders.
At a COVID-19 review meeting held here today, CM Naveen said as domestic violence is also a major factor of concern during the lockdown, the Odisha police should begin the process of identifying the habitual offenders and extend help to the complainants through phone calls.
He also directed the police to ensure that works of farmers and movement of their agricultural products are not disrupted due to enforcement of the lockdown.
Besides, he ordered for setting up of COVID-19 hospital in each district in next one week. The Government has planned to keep total 6000 beds ready at 36 places in the state to treat the patients by the end of this month.
” I am pleased to see that the coronavirus statistics are levelling in the State and going down. That’s a very good sign. And those who are responsible for this including doctors, health workers, police and administrative officials, very well done!,” Patnaik said.
On Wednesday Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reviewed the lockdown situation in the state interacting with Chief Secretary, DGP and other concerned officials through video conferencing.
He asked the DGP to facilitate all agricultural activities without any problem in transportation of agriculture products in the state amid the extended lockdown period till May 3.
